Company, Stephen Sondheim, San Francisco Playhouse

Another Sondheim play, my fourth, I think, plus the revue Marry Me A Little, which named tune came from Company. The play is a little silly and dated (60s), but quite entertaining. The lyrics are a typical combination of rapid fire humor or cynicism, and lovely love songs. The lead character Bobby, Robert, has a circle of married or nearly married friends, and has many romances but no real love. He wants love but won't commit to it. I will miss going to SF Playhouse this coming year, and may go back eventually.
